Hello All,
The post on TechCrunch on April 1 regarding finding a girlfriend/wife for Mike Arrington may have been an April Fool’s joke but apparently some women took it seriously. I have managed to get my hands on a few submissions and these looked the most real. Can you please help me in deciding which one would be the best fit for Mike since he clearly doesn’t have time to date all of them even if we could get him off the couch. Please do vote for your choice below and we will take it from there. Feel free to post your comments below (in good taste please!). Note: the masks are to protect the privacy of the women.
Miss M. 29/5’8”/Director at Accounting firm. Why Mike? “I have a thing for bald men with a good sense of humor. I am easy going, adaptable and outdoorsy, stay fit and so complement Mike well – opposites attract you know? I do exceedingly well in social settings and so can bring some life to Mike’s parties. My own social circle will complement the (ahem) crowd around him all the time. I would like him to start a celebrity gossip column, I think he will be great at that sort of thing than the geeky stuff he has got going on and I can definitely help. He will be a very different man, you will see.
Miss W. 35/5’2”/Blog reader (currently between jobs). Why Mike? She says she is Mike’s biggest fan! She reads every one of his blog posts and recruits friends to Digg up those posts. Her favorite dinner table topic, lunch table topic and date topic, all include Mike Arrington. Mike completely fascinates her by her own admission. Enter her house and you’ll find his pictures all over her room. The picture that will catch your attention though is right next to her night stand and is a blown up portrait of her and Mike. She says Mike was large hearted enough to let her take a picture with him at a web 2.0 event. She hates working out in the gym, but occasionally works out to Wii fitness and thinks Mike should too. She is convinced they are made for each other.
Miss P. 32/5’6”/Web designer. Why Mike? “I like cuddly bears. Mike is very misunderstood because of the front he puts up from his insecurities. I can see right through it and can nurture him spiritually”. She is a part-time Yoga instructor and places great importance on mind and body fitness. She believes Mike has the mind thing in control but needs help in the body front. She believes only the right women can get through his façade. She also thinks TechCrunch site design is really bad and needs a woman’s touch just like Mike’s appearance does. She thinks Mike should write less and listen more to release his inner strength.
Miss T. 30/6’1”/Fashion model (part time). Why Mike? She is bored with the usual people she dates and wants a real man that isn’t into anything she is into – like fitness, modeling, dancing, etc. She has heard that Mike fits the bill even though she doesn’t know much about him at the moment. She will try anything, once. If not Mike, then she would like to try the GigaOm guy – heard he can be a good fit too. She doesn’t smoke but likes the smell of pipe tobacco. She would like someone to take care of her once her modeling career ends, someone smart, and controllable. She also thinks she can be a great bodyguard for Mike after she heard about some recent events. She is a part-time kick-boxing instructor.
